In contrast to the EarthQuaker Devices stripped-down Speaker Cranker, the Special Cranker boasts an expanded control set for improved command over the pedal's sound and response. The More knob makes its triumphant return in the Special Cranker, adjusting the bias of the transistor to dial in varying levels of saturation. Standard Level and Tone controls let you dial in the perfect volume while adjusting treble frequencies, respectively. Where the Special Cranker truly shines is through its diode selector switch, offering the original silicon diode voicing as well as a distinct germanium option — with versatility and tonal possibilities like this, it's no surprise that more than a few Music Bliss shredders turn to EQD for all their pedal needs.
