The Behringer BM-17 faithfully recreates the classic and beloved Moogerfooger FreqBox, a simple analog synth pedal that opens up new worlds of sonic terrain. The core is a VCO that can be tuned several different ways: manually using the Frequency control, by amplitude using the built-in envelope follower, or by flipping the Sync switch and using your instrument's signal to guide the pitch. You can use a combination of techniques by adjusting the Env Amount a touch while Sync'd so that you get a slight bump in pitch when you play, or err towards the noisier side of things with the FM Amount in combination with the Drive control.
Control abounds in the BM-17, giving you plenty of ways to get creative with this unique and classic effect. FM will introduce more spectral complexity to your waveform and takes the signal directly from the Drive circuit for rich oscillating fuzz tones at high gain settings. Experiment with all manner of waveshapes with a smooth transition from triangle, to saw, to pulse for plenty of timbres and colors. An array of CV/Expression inputs are available on the back letting you control any knob with a dedicated input. Direct outs for the VCO and Envelope allow you to control pedals, modular synths, and other external devices.
